"Now let the heavens be joyful,
Let earth her song begin:
Let the round world keep triumph,
And all that is therein;
Invisible and visible,
Their notes let all things blend,
For Christ the Lord is risen
Our joy that hath no end."
[John of Damascus]
"We have no tomb in Christianity because we have
1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given”
"To Him I owe my life and breath,
And all the joys I have;
He makes me triumph over death,
And saves me from the grave."
[Samuel Stennett A. D. 1787]
"Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling"
[Augustus M. Toplady, Hymn: Rock of Ages]
We cannot fully understand the Power
That the empty tomb implied.
But we know beyond all human doubt.
Our Savior, Christ, had died;
And with our little finite minds,
We could ne'er explain these things,
But when we recognize its truth
Then our hearts with rapture sings.
He has risen, as He said He would,
No earthly grave could hold Him long
And we know it never could.
Yes, He indeed has risen
And sits at God's right hand,
Administering to His saints on Earth,
Fulfilling love's demands.
[Calvin M. Lake - April 21, 1962]
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."
[Apostle Paul - 1 Corinthians 1:18]
God manifest in flesh, oh wonder to behold
Creative power within the breast that felt the blast of cold.
God in our likeness made, oh may we understand
The One who made the wondering worlds appears as lowly man
He stood within the realm He fashioned with a thought,'
His creatures gazed upon Him; alas they knew Him not,
They cried out for His blood, His claims cast down as dross,
They spat upon His princely face, then nailed Him to a cross.
But He made the tree for that cross of wood.
He made the hill on which it stood,
And in some hidden vein of land
He made the steel that pierced each hand;
He made the sun which hid its face;
He made the fathers of that race
Who, in their hatred knew Him not.
He made the fiends with which He fought
And there, in death, He made a way Back to Himself Eternally.
